I’ve been pretty much focused on simple cards lately and this one is no different. I normally get too wound up in trying to use lots of different embellishments when simple accents can also make a card look great especially if you have beautiful paper to work with. If you have the ‘Hey Birdie’ 6×6 paper pad from Kaisercraft, you can make this card. I know it’s an old range but I don’t see anything wrong with using what you have in your stash which includes old ranges and discontinued ranges. I would love to, but I can’t afford to buy every single range that comes out every few months, so I am trying to slowly teach myself that I don’t have to buy everything that comes out. Plus the fact that I still love this range from Kaisercraft and a lot of other ranges the company brought out. No doubt you will see me using them all over my blog.
I started with a lightly textured white card base measuring 15cm x 10.5cm when folded. I then cut the little birdie patterned paper to the size of the card.
For those of you who are new to Kaisercraft paper pads, there are 4 pages at the back of the pad full of various diecuts. I have always loved Kaisercraft for doing this because it’s very convenient especially if you are looking for a particular shaped diecut and don’t have the dies to cut your own (like me).
I chose a circle diecut with the cute little flowers and stamped a sentiment from the Kit of the Month December 2010 stamp set onto it using Versafine ‘Onyx Black’ ink. I had a choice of other black inks but being the sometimes perfectionist, I like to stamp word sentiments in versafine because the ink clings to both clear and rubber stamps so beautifully plus the stamped result is really crisp. If anyone has other ink suggestions, please let me know as I have a little trouble getting inks to stick to clear stamps.
I then layered the diecut onto the card using 3D foam. There you have it – the easiest of cards. You can pretty much do this card quite easily in quantities as it is very quick and simple.
Thanks for visiting! xx
This is lovely. I know just what you mean about simple cards. Sometimes they’re the best. :)
