How we spend our days…

This time I’m using Kaisercraft’s Chapter One 6 1/2″ paper pad. (if anyone knows why Kaisercraft changed their paper pad size, could you please tell me!!!).

For the supplies, I chose the polka dot paper because it’s flocked and feels like velvet, a matching paper from the same paper pad plus a diecut, a button, a length of white seam binding and a couple of flowers punched from the same paper. The sentiment is from the July 2011 KOTM stamp set – Better Together. Colleen from Craft-A-Lot has a great range of Unity stamp sets (some heavily discounted) and a lot of other stamps so visit her online store if you are looking for great prices and a great range.

The card started from a base measuring 15cm x 10.5cm. I like to design in this size because  I can get 2 of this sized card from one A4 sized cardstock sheet. Economical for those of you who are on a tight budget. I cut the teal paper to the size of the card and adhered it using double sided tape.

I then punched a decorative border into a piece of the polka dot paper which measured 10.5cm x 2.5cm then layered it onto the card using 3D foam. Using a large Retro Flower punch from E K Success, I punched out a flower from the polka paper then punched out another smaller flower from the teal paper. I embellished the centre of the flower using an American Crafts glitter button and tied it with some embroidery thread. I then glued the button down using Helmar’s 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Using the sentiment from the Unity Stamp Company’s July 2011 KOTM stamp set which you can purchase from Colleen at Craft-A-Lot, I stamped it onto a diecut using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then added a few pieces of 3D foam onto the diecut and adhered it in place. Using a Zig Memory Pen in black, I faux stitched the card around the outside. I do have a sewing maching but was very lazy because I have the flu (yet again this season – as does my partner and our 2 kids). Atleast we all have it at the same time and not in dribs and drabs :)
