Morning everyone!!
The other day, I bought a new Distress Ink ‘Dried Marigold’. I absolutely love the color so I decided to create a card around it. It’s such a fresh bright happy colour and it was really easy to work with.
I started with a white 15cm x 10.5cm (c6) card base. I ran it through my Bigshot, embossing the front of the card with the embossing folder ‘Pinstripe’ from Couture Creations. I then embossed another piece of white cardstock using Craft Concepts ‘Budding Vine’ embossing folder and ran my scissors along the edges to distress it a little. Using the ‘Dried Marigold’ distress ink, I inked the edges of both the card front and the newly embossed piece of cardstock and then adhered it to the front of the card using Glossy Accents by Ranger.
I cut a piece of pretty patterned paper from the 6×6 Paper Pack ‘Butterfly Garden’ by Pink Paislee and adhered it also ontop of the embossed piece of cardstock. Colleen from Craft-A-Lot so generously sent me a pack of goodies and in amongst them were quite a few Untiy Stamp Company stamps so I chose a flower and sentiment stamp from the February 2010 Kit of the Month set ‘Nothing but Blue Skys’. I stamped it in Olympia Green versafine ink onto the piece of patterned paper and decorated the flowers with a few pretty Rhinestones from Kaisercraft .
I cut a piece of white seam binding and dyed it using my Dried Marigold distress ink and tied it in a double bow to the card. Using the sentiment stamp, I stamped it with ‘Onyx Black’ versafine ink onto a piece of cream cardstock by Bazzill and layered it onto the bottom of the card using 3D foam.
I cut a piece of Jute Twine and tied a button and then stuck that to the sentiment strip using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I find this glue best for glueing fabric and anything bulky. I have tried many but this one seems to work the best and once it’s dry, it has a brilliant hold.
Lastly, I chose a few Prima paper blooms and glued them onto the double bow. I accented the pretty flowers with a little Kindyglitz glitter glue ‘Crystalina’. Using a few more gemstones, I finished off the card.
Thanks for visiting and tune in tomorrow when I will be having a little giveaway.
Happy crafting xx
