Firstly, appologies if there was too much info in that last post… I re-read what I wrote and thought hmm!! Thank god I am feeling a little better today. Secondly, I have another tag to show you.
I was sent these beautiful Holiday Silhouettes by Websters Pages from Colleen at Craft-A-Lot and since I had never used them before, was really trying to think of a way to use them. I also didn’t know if I had the right glue to adhere it with and in the end, I used Glossy Accents by Ranger and it has seemed to hold really well.
The paper used is Season’s Greetings by Echo Park; Mini Rosettes die by Tim Holtz; sentiment stamp by Stampin Up; Lipstick Red chalk ink by ColorBox; Open Scallop punch by EK Success; shipping tag, ribbon and foam dots from my stash.
Thanks for visiting xx
Just a quick post this arvie about a lonesome tag I made last night. I had planned on making a set but I am suffering from the worst dizziness the last few days (apparently I’m either overly stressed or premenopausal YUCK!) and everytime I move, it’s almost like that dizziness you get when you’ve drank a little too much and then go lay down and everything spins… except it’s ALL the time and it’s driving me nuts not to mention making me feel just really off :( so here is my lonesome little tag…
For the Christmas tree, I did a little emboss resist, which I’m getting more braver at and trying it more often. The stamp came from Unity Company’s September KOTM stamp set and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up. You will find all the in stock Unity stamps here at Craft-A-Lot.
For the papers, I used 12 Days of Christmas by MME. I wasn’t sure about the blue, red and green but I think it goes ok together on this tag. I will leave it there for now because I need to go lay down or something and wait to my partner’s ADHD/Austistic son to come over. Should make for an interesting weekend because we are putting up the Christmas Tree… a little late this year but it’s never too late to fill kids with a little decorating the tree happy!!
Thanks for visiting!
I appologize for the lateness of this post and having no time to craft last week because I was away, I sat down yesterday morning (sunday) and made a couple of cards. It’s funny how not crafting for a week brought out the creativity and these days, I really miss it when I’m not able to work with my hands.
The first 4 cards are my DT projects for last week. All based around simplicity, Kaisercraft papers and Unity stamps. I was surprised at how quickly I made these cards. I am normally umming and aahing about everything so it was a blessing in disguise for me to just sit down and in an hour, I had 4 cards to show. I guess I missed making things more than I thought :)
Some of you may know from past posts, that I have quite the Paper Pad addiction (over 70 and counting lol). I love them so much because being predominately a cardmaker, the size suits me well… so I was going through my paper pad drawers yesterday and noticed that I have a lot of Kaisercraft paper pads and knew that they also come with some great diecuts at the end of the pad, so what better way to keep cards simple, is to use what I have without adding to0 much of anything else from my scrap drawers. I found it really easy working this way so I will stop babbling now and show you the cards.
MAY HAPPINESS FILL YOUR HEART

A couple of punched hearts and a little glitter glue adds a little more dimension to this stamped image.
The sentiment was stamped onto a diecut which was included in the 6inch paper pad then I added a pearl to the sweet little flower and thought it didn’t need anything else than that.
Using a white pen (instead of my sewing machine), I added dashed lines or faux stitching around the main frame of my card just to tie it all in.
The next 3 cards, I used the same paper pad so I will add the supplies list for all 3 at the end of the post.
I’M HUNG UP ON YOU
LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS
For this card, I decided to let the paper be the star so all I did was choose a diecut and stamp a sentiment. Very simple but makes a big impact.
For this card, I chose 4 diecut shapes, 2 pieces of patterned paper and a little black and white twine. I made the umbrella using a 2 1/4 in circle cut using Martha Stewart’s circle cutter and then punched little pieces out of it using a 1 inch punch.
I added some black and white twine for the umbrella handle.![]()
I stamped a sentiment onto a diecut shape then layered it onto another diecut shape using 3D foam.
I finished off the card by added a tied organza bow to the umbrella.

I just wanted to start off by talking a little about my beautiful daughter. Apart from everyone (except me ‘touch wood’) being sick with the flu in my household at the moment, while I was cooking dinner last night, I was talking to my 15 yr old daughter just about random stuff and suddenly she burst into tears. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that her best friend since starting High School (4yrs ago)was leaving this Thursday to go live hundreds of kilometers away. *sigh* I hate seeing her cry and I was desperately searching for things to say to make her feel better but knew nothing would. I remember something similiar happening to me when I was about 11… my best friend (and only true friend) moved away all of a sudden and to this day, I can still remember the empty, lonely feeling I felt when that happened. She was my rock because I was constantly bullied and she was the only one who I can remember stuck up for me… so to have Renee come out and say that her best friend is leaving and won’t be coming back broke my heart as a mother seeing her only daughter so upset. As a mum, I feel I am supposed to have words of wisdom to comfort her but I had nothing… all I could say was ‘I’m sorry honey that you are so sad but this is ‘real life’ and things like this will continually happen and you are a strong young woman who has many friends etc etc…’. Reading that makes me sad that that is all the wisdom I had. I guess if I had somewhere to look for my wisdom, I would have had more to say. My mother and I, to put it bluntly, had a really firey relationship and when she kicked me out of the house at the age of 16, I never spoke to her again until 16 years later so I never really had anyone in my life to give me the kind of wisdom we pass onto our sons/daughters. I just hope when Renee is my age and her children come to her, she will be a little better prepared…

This next card was inspired by my own mother. She had a stroke just over 10 years ago now at the age of 51. It changed everyone’s life forever, especially hers – she was never meant to live but fought and won in ways but also lost in so many others. I remember the day we took her home from hospital… her head was shaved, it had stitches running down the side of it starting from her temple and going almost to her ear and we were pushing her out in a wheelchair. I remember looking at her after many people were staring and I will never forget the embarassed look she had and the tears in her eyes. You see, mum has always be the strong, tough one and even though she is only just over 4 feet tall, she was always a lot taller in my eyes and leaving the hospital looking that way was so undignified for her. Her and I had our differences and we never spoke to each other for nearly 20 years over some rediculous clash of tempers. I won’t go into that but the card is more or less my way of saying ‘Mum, no matter what, you have always been beautiful to me’. I never tell her enough and I still don’t know how to because most of the time, she doesn’t know/remember who I am…
This set of mini cards were made using Artwork from Tracy Ann Digital Art and you can find her beautiful Etsy store here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TracyAnnDigitalArt

Morning all.
Just a quick update with a set of new tags for boys in my Madeit store. I loved the colours and they all went so well together. Bright and cheery!
And my sweet little man turned 3 yesterday. WOW the time really has flown since he was born. Here’s the card I made for him using the same papers I made the Boy Tags from:
He was less interested in his card, although he did open it and read it like he understood what was written inside which was quite cute, and more interested in his presents (as you would be when you’re turning 3). Noisy cars and trucks and a musical keyboard with a microphone which he has wanted ever since my daughter and I let him play guitar hero with us one night and he helped me sing. Even though all he sings is YEAH YEAH YEAH and a lot of other non-understandable words, he still sounds soooo much better than me :). I don’t know why he does it and he knows how to talk and sing properly but when he’s singing into a microphone, he sings like he’s from another planet lol… and it’s one of those toys where ‘it seemed like a good idea at the time‘ :)
Anyway, thanks for visiting! xx
Just another quick update before I go to bed (I have the beginnings of a head cold). These cards and tags can be found in my Madeit store.
And please remember, I will post to international addresses… you just need to get a quote before you buy.
These next 2 cards, I have made using artwork with permission from www.scrapbookingmad.com – thank you to the designers there.
Thanks for looking and happy crafting!
For a little while now, I have had the privilege of doing a little work for a lovely lady whose name is Jen Holdsworth. The first time we talked through email, she told me she was interested in my flowers and tags as she was beginning a new business all about providing hospital hampers for children and families with disabilities and chronic illnes throughout australia so she bought a few as samples. I didn’t know it at the time, but I Google’d (as we all do) to see if I could find anything out about who this lovely lady was… yes I could have just asked but at the time, I didn’t. I wasn’t really expecting anything to show up but it did… I was pointed in the direction of the SAKKS website. I really don’t know what I expected to find but all the little details I knew about Jen and her family said that this was the right website so I clicked on the link. I found that it is a website which supports kids with Kabuki Syndrome so if you don’t know what that is (like I didn’t), please take a walk over there. You will find heart warming stories which will humble your soul and give you a lot of insight into what all kinds of families from all walks of life deal with on a daily basis. I am so glad I have had the honour of working with Jen. She herself has written a little story about her family. Her youngest child Josie was also diagnosed with Kabuki Syndrome and has just passed a special milestone in her life – her 10th birthday on the 1st of March so here’s to you Josie and your wonderful family, Jen (mum), Paul (dad), Lucy (sis), Luke (bro) and Lilly (sis). I’m sure you all had a wonderful day. Goodluck on your new business Jen. With such a wonderful lady at the helm, I’m sure it will do amazing :)
The card I made for Josie from me:
An here’s a few easter tags I have added to my Madeit store: Please remember, I will ship internationally but you will have to email me for a quote before purchasing any of my things. I will ALWAYS send it to you at the cheapest and I always cover some of the postage costs.
As always, goodnight for now and thanks for visiting!! xx
Hi all…
Firstly, I want to start off with a couple of new pics of my beautiful kids… my daughter THINKS she’s a hairdresser and chooses her 2yr old brother to experiment on with hair gel and mousse plus she scribbled on his nose (why, I don’t know!) and I don’t think he’s too impressed with it
And lastly, this photo was taken last year just after Christmas. We were having lunch in a park in Bundaberg with my Sister, Brother-in-Law and my nieces and nephew. A reporter from the local paper took it and included it in one of the holiday papers so I bought a copy of it because I really love it!! and it’s one of the only photos I have of them all together, happy!!!! (well mostly if you don’t count my grumpy bum/shy son, Kody :) )
And now, to a couple of new things in my Madeit store.
To see the rest, you’ll have to pay my store a visit :)
Until next time, happy crafting…
